A BLUEBERRY PAVLOVA FOR CHRISTMAS

What did I do this week? I cooked and cleaned, ironed and starched the bedsheet and pillowcases and  I loved the smell of the sun on the white bathroom towels.  How wonderful to have time to hang the washing up on the line outside and see it billowing in the wind on the line and then take it all off late afternoon smelling of summer sun and freshly cut grass.

I prepared for Christmas 🎄 but mostly in my heart. I deliberately, moved away from the buying and the noise this year. I wanted Christmas to be deeper and more meaningful with simpler things but deeper spiritual meaningful rhythms. I love having no internet and no television. It is only when you deliberately make a choice to live a simpler more meaningful life that you realise how our individual and collective brains are pumped full of stuff to keep us busy somehow occupied with random ideas, stuff, commercialism that is so far removed from who we truly are or want to be.

Living a slower, more intentional life brings back the joy of the true self. Slowly, but deliberately, allowing the true self to come alive again within you is a wonderous delight. Something comes alive from deep within you when you start to say "no" to the consumerism, to the excess and the materialism, when you start venturing on a slower more intentional path.
